Series notes:
These reports were made by the judges and chairmen at criminal trials, giving an outline of the evidence and reasons for their verdict. They were submitted to the Governor for confirmation, instructions were then issued to the Chief Police Magistrate and Sheriff to carry out the sentence. The reports were then returned to the Comptroller-General. Reports on capital and other criminal cases are included. Other documents include petitions for remission of sentences and associated papers.
