A sample of permissions to marry sought from the Lieutenant-Governor and then addressed to the officiating clergyman informing him that approval has been granted and requesting him to notify the Comptroller-General whether the marriage has been celebrated. One example of the printed memorandum addressed to the convict, approving of his application to marry, indicating that his memorial has been forwarded to the clergyman, and instructing him to forward his certificates of marriage immediately after the ceremony.
