Description (Content/Function):

This Journal was copied by Anne Drysdale of Boorangoop, Victoria and the last two pages are her own account of Scot and how his children came to be in her care. It is assumed that the original was in the possession of the children. This journal was owned by the Hindmarsh family from the early 19th century until 1968 when it was sold. The AOT purchased the journal in 1993.

The spelling of the surname 'Scot' is variable. In the diary, John Scott is recorded as 'Scot' but other records refer to him as 'Scott'.
