Series notes:
Harry Nairn Butler was born in Hobart on 31 March 1886 to Gamaliel Henry Butler and Ethel Julia Nairn and died on 22 February 1955. This series relates largely to his time in the Australian Military Forces during World War 1 where he was medical officer in charge of the first Tasmanian contingent which left from Hobart in October 1914. He served in Egypt, Gallipoli and France in the Third Field Ambulance.
