Series notes:
William Lamond Allardyce, the eldest son of Colonel Allardyce of Aberdeenshire married Miss Constance Greene at Holy Trinity, Bacchus Marsh, Victoria in August, 1895. She was the daughter of Cr. Moleswoth Greene, Esq., J.P., of Greystones, Rowsley. Allardyce was at that time a civilian member of the Legislative Council of the Governor of Fiji, holding the office of Native Commissioner. They had two daughters Viti and Keva. Constance Allardyce died suddenly in 1919 and in 1920 Allardyce married a widow Elsie Elizabeth Goodfellow, nee Stewart. Most of the Allardyce family papers in this collection were in the possession of Constance (Viti) Molesworth Allardyce (who was firstly Mrs Corlett and then Mrs Mabutt.) They then passed to the family of Keva Butler (nee Allardyce), the sister of Viti. Constance Greene's family arrived in Port Phillip Bay in December, 1842 per the 'Sarah'. Her father Moleswoth Greene was the eldest of seven children of William Pomeroy Greene (born 1 Ap 1798) and his wife Anne (nee Griffith). The other siblings were Rawdon, Mary F. E. (Mrs William Foster Stawell), William, Richard, George and Charles. The family settled 14 miles from Melbourne at 'Woodlands' near Boorinda. Moleswoth was born in 1827 and married Emma Browne of Hartlands, Victoria.
