Series notes:
The index is a single sheet listing of plans for built and proposed Tasmanian railway lines and consists of columns of coloured symbols representing the different lines. The plans themselves have cloth tags attached which match the symbols on the index. For example the Derwent Valley line is represented by a red square, the Launceston and Western line by a blue square, the Don Heads to Melrose tramway by a blue diamond on a white background and miscellaneous lines by a red white and blue roundel.
