This series consists of two volumes of "Records of Examinations" of employees for the Traffic Branch of the Tasmanian Government Railways. The record is entered on a form 467 and these are arranged in alphabetical order. The form begins with the title Government Railways of Tasmania / "Record of Examinations" and the name of the employee. The entries on the front of the form include the name of the examination, a date and a file. The examinations listed cover - block working, clerical, electric staff, guard, medical, postal knowledge and secrecy, rules and regulations, stationmaster, shorthand and typing, telegraphy. The back of the form is a continuation and covers signal boxes for - Hobart, New Town, Moonah, Derwent Park, Glenorchy, Claremont, Bridgewater, Launceston, Western Junction and Devonport. Ordinary Train Staff and Ticket has been added in some cases.
