This series comprises a single booklet index for individual level crossings files contained in the Civil Engineer's Branch filing system (P2094). The index records a collection of file numbers from the level crossings subject classification number block (404/1 - 409/-) in the filing system. It also shows the crossing's distance (in miles and chains) from the beginning of a particular line and the name of the crossing. The name of the line appears at the top of each page. Occasional files entries have a pencilled-in numerical notation which presumably relates to a drawing of that particular crossing. The index does not appear to cover all files for level crossings raised at this time.
