This series consists of reprints and cuttings from trade and professional magazines, articles, letters, extracts and pamphlets etc. relating to the engineering and construction functions of the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Branches of the Transport Commission, Tasmania Railway Branch. The articles cover a wide range of topics from those directly relating to construction of the permanent way to others dealing with more general topics such as contracts and corrosion. The collection formed part of the Technical Library at the Invermay site in Launceston (Tas.) and was still occasionally referred to at the time it was transferred to Australian Archives. The papers comprising this collection have been kept in cardboard containers with the name of the particular topic printed on the spine.
