This is a series of records created in the course of administering the estates of deceased persons who did not have a will and, in a small number of cases, people who did die with a will.

The files contain a wide variety of material. This can include: affidavits, statements of assets and liabilities, legal correspondence, family information, occasional photographs and personal belongings of individuals such as diaries and personal correspondence.

These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives

Alphabetical although the files do have registration numbers. The numbers are those used for the Orders which will be found in SC130
