How to Use:
This series begins at SC81/2. (What was SC81/1 is now SC83). The documents are filed in indictment number order. SC81/2-36 cover the period September 1951 to February 1957, the indictments are numbered in a single continuous sequence from 1401-2458 and the series AD875 provides an index and register. Thereafter the indictments are in annual single number order and the register and index are retained by the Supreme Court. Series encompasses Burnie, Launceston and Hobart sittings. Consignment 2 comprises 5 cases only which distorts the date range of the series which is essentially 1951 - 1983. Information on criminal cases before 1951 can be found in the series SGD13 criminal prosecution files (with gaps).
Consignment 1 and 2 are open. All subsequent consignments have an access restriction of D50.
