Description (Content/Function):

The Bookmaker's Act 1932 (23 Geo V No39) provided for the registration of bookmakers and the recording of bets on stampled tickets issued by Treasury (Section 14). The Act also provided for the return of such tickets when race-meetings were abandoned bookmaker and the date, and the number and value of tickets issued or returned.
